The 80′s favorite bucket bag is back and it is back with a vengeance. It has been seen on the arms of some of tinsel town’s fashion forward ladies.
DVF Thea Bucket bag, $395 (Sold Out)
This bucket bag may not be as roomy as the Diego but it’s just as sophisticated. It features studs and pleats at the bottom. However, let’s not forget that it is in leather while the Diego is in suede. They are both luxurious nonetheless.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Party Girl Tribal Alisha Bucket Bag, $398 (Sold Out)
I also love this version from Marc by Marc Jacobs, but the studs and rivets here may just be a little overdone for me. But then again it’s a Marc Jacobs creation. We all know he’s ahead of the pack and knows what will become trendy before most others do.
Your outfit should always be subtle when you’re carrying this bucket bag, otherwise it will just be too loud.
Rebecca Minkoff Tess Drawstring bag, $595 (Sold Out)
Moving on, I think this Rebecca Minkoff creation is also a good choice if you’re more of the practical type. The color is gorgeous, and the size and shape are just right for your day essentials. I particularly like the tassels and the braided drawstring.
There are a lot more bucket bag choices out there. Which brings me to the question: are these bags are here to stay? I’m not a big fan of the whole 80′s trend but I think a bucket shaped bag is not such a bad idea.
More and more celebrities have been seen toting the bucket:
Nicole Richie with the Givenchy bucket bag as she leaves the Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills Los Angeles, California, April 7, 2009
Leona Lewis with the Stella McCartney Falabella Bucket bag as she arrives at the BBC Studios in Maida Vale to appear on the Live Lounge London, England, January 21, 2010
Nicky Hilton with the Genevieve Jones Tree Bucket Sequin Purse. Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton were seen heading to Kitson Accessories boutique after having lunch together at the Ivy restaurant, Los Angeles, November 6, 2011
I guess this answers my question above. The bucket bag will definitely stay trendy if the celebrities continue loving it as much as they do today!
