Shopbop Sale Find: Foley + Corinna Vintage Style Bags!

Shopbop is in the middle of its huge fall kickoff sale and we’re thankful to find the vintage-inspired brand Foley + Corinna included in their sale collection.

If you want vintage-style purses you can use for both day and night, Foley + Corinna always offers great pieces. From the sale we found both a tote and clutch, both on 30% off!

Woven Circle Tote, $346.50, Foley + Corinna

These bags come from their line of woven circle bags that evoke a fun, ’60s vibe. They’re young and fresh and can be worn with anything from dresses to trousers.

Woven Circle Fringe Clutch, $185.50, Foley + Corinna

I especially like the fact that they’re oversized. This factors in a practicality that’s hardly seen in vintage pieces these days.

Style Lockdown: Vintage-Inspired Metal Cage Clutch by Anndra Neen

There’s nothing more vintage than metal and the romantic, old-world feel of cages. Sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens have combined these two as our current vintage style purse!

Anndra Neen Cage Bag spotted at NYFW

As the geniuses behind the brand Anndra Neen, their metal cage clutches were inspired by the Cage Cuff, one of their signature pieces. And voila! A vintage-inspired clutch that will carry your trifles most stylishly.

Retro-Inspired Bags from Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2012 Collection!

Proenza Schouler‘s Spring 2012 collection revealed a spectacular take on the 195os, retro-futuristic if you may. It could’ve been a better take on the film version of Bradbury’s Farenheit 451 where the 1990s looked very much like the 1960s. Anyway, you have cat’s eye sunglasses, solid bright colors occasionally accented by geometric or floral patterns. But my favorite were the holdall bags.

At first, I thought they were clutch bags. About the size of a mini messenger, these leather-strapped holdalls can carry more than just your mobile phone and a lipstick. Heck, it can carry two of each of those, a compact and perhaps a tiny camera. They seem to be quite a handful though but all that was forgotten when a metallic one, trimmed in this white leather, stepped out.

Silver and white bag from the Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 collection

Ah yes, shiny won me over once again. But look at it, such a genius of a clutch bag! And in all respects, it jives with the post-modern style of the collection. How can you not love a bag like this?

Another one: Black and white holdall from Spring 2012 of Proenza Schouler

I looked around if we could find a good enough alternative while we wait but there isn’t any that ‘s just as good. You can, however, pre-order another Proenza Schouler bag that debuted on the runway. This is the PS1 Medium Floral Printed Canvas Clutch. It has a smaller version and a tote that you can also pre-order.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Channeling the 70′s with the Mulberry Carter Bag

(image via stylebistro.com)

Clad in a floral tunic dress, tan knee-high boots, classic aviators and  one of the season’s It-bags, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a sight to behold while out and about in Beverly Hills.

Rosie’s choice of arm candy is the Carter bag from Mulberry. It’s part of the British brand’s strong Fall 2011 collection.  A rectangular shape number that can hold your day’s essentials sans being bulky. It comes in different textures. Suede, croc, snake, and Rosie’s in lavish ostrich.

The Carter bag retails from a whopping $1000 to $1500 depending on the skin. Quite a hefty price to spare for a rather small purse, isn’t it? But fret not ladies. Should you want to channel Rosie’s 70′s look complete with the vintage-inspired cross-body, here are some great alternatives rounded up for you.

Pietro Alessandro Flap Over Shoulder Bag, $273

SR Squared by Sonia Roberts Mixed Media Mini Bag, $65

Cleobella Cantina Medium Cross-Body, $170

Juicy Couture Collection Cross-Body, $198

All of these bags I spotted at Endless.com. Now with the right tunic dress and boots, along with any of these, you are sure to hit it off big time with the 70′s era that is still very much on-trend come Fall.
