It isn’t clear when exactly shopper totes came into existence. But from research, they date back to 19th century. Of course those shoppers tote look nothing like the designer ones saturating the market these days.

In my quest for a good, stylish, reasonably-priced brown satchel bag, I came across this one from Steve Madden.

Upper East Side N/S Tote, $108.00, Steve Madden

Evidently, Steve Madden does not only make beautiful, simplistic, minimalist and classy shoes. This label also has a fair offering of handsomely-crafted handbags that you can take pride in.

I am particularly enamored with this piece. It’s brown, something basic that I can easily interject in my wardrobe. It has a rustic and vintage look to it, making this a winning option whenever I want to go for vintage outfits.

It is pretty roomy as well, boasting of a large interior and large front pockets closed by two buckled straps. It has a long strap, giving you the option of carrying it cross-body style.

Since it is made from synthetic leather, it is not as heavy as authentic leather so if you need a large bag that will not kill your shoulders after minutes of toting it, this should be a wonderful choice.

You can’t miss the bag. It’s large, leather and sporting the “Y” Yves Saint Laurent insignia.

It’s actually the Cabas Chyc leather bag and Hilary Duff is obviously a fan of its beauty since she has been seen carrying it for shopping trips and errands many times in the past already.
