Taking inspiration from 20’s flapper fashion, fringe bags have made a comeback. It looks like they are here to stay too!

These bloggers have no qualms infusing it in their personal styles – 90’s grunge, 80’s style, boho style, what have you. It seems like it is also a favorite bag choice to pair up with printed leggings (tribal print and leopard print).

What about you? Is this bag something you’d care to inject in your own style?

Leather Backpacks and Vintage Style Outfits – Why Not?

When was the last time you wore a leather backpack? To personal style blogger Johanne, almost 7 years! But yes, these leather backpacks are coming back in fashion and they are being incorporated even with vintage ensembles. How exciting is that?

As casual as backpacks might sound, the leather ones inject a more serious stamp to your ensemble.

Johanne D Backpack
Johanne from Randomly Jae toughens up her pretty dress with a leather backpack. Similarly, you can wear drop waist dresses or dresses cinched at the waist and then accessorize with lace up footwear and leather backpack. Johanne also incorporated two-tone blazer with her ensemble.

Estefania Pino Backpack
Estefania Pino from RiotFuss combined maxi dress, denim jacket and lace up boots with her large square leather backpack.

Gabriela Grebska Backpack
Gabriela Grebska from Kolorowadusza bundles up in fur-collared coat, vintage style tweed skirt, knitted sweater and a pair of tights. As for her bag, it’s a rustic-looking leather backpack with drawstring closure and two front pockets.

Bebe Zeva Backpack
Bebe Zeva was in the mood for retro as evident in this colorful mod dress and cat sunglasses. But you still can’t miss the 90’s hip flair. There’s the colorful beanie, the high top sneakers with socks and the leather backpack. This outfit is so cool, I’m dying of frostbite.

For all intents and purposes, get yourself a snazzy new backpack. Here are my picks:

How To Wear Tapestry Bags – As Inspired By Fashion Bloggers

I bought a tapestry skirt once and had to suffer from innumerable jibes about how I robbed our floor of its rug. But I love it and I’m not going to lie.

Not all people appreciate the beauty and charm of tapestry so it’s not the easiest thing to incorporate in your wardrobe. But you can’t call yourself a vintage lover if you don’t have something in tapestry. So if you are still shying away from the idea of draping your body with something tapestry, try it in bags instead.

These fashion bloggers show us how to rock beautiful tapestry bags and make them work!

1. Wear it with your favorite 60’s dresses.

You can’t go wrong with this trick. Dresses epitomize femininity and punctuating it with a lovely floral print tapestry bag can take the outfit to the next level!

2. Layer up in knitted batwing sweaters.

Spice up your winter outfits with tapestry bags. Assemble these coordinates – sweater, pleated skirt, tights, low-heeled ankle boots and batwing chunky sweater.

3. Opt for monochrome pieces and let your tapestry bag be the center of attention.

Love the design of your tapestry bag? Let it shine then! Pair it up with monochromatic pieces so you’ll easily make a statement with your bag.

4. Wear it even with modern ensembles.

Keiko’s tapestry bag is just beyond amazing. It looks like a painting, only better because you can carry it around with you. But instead of just relegating it to vintage style, Keiko incorporated it in more modern ensembles.

5. Toughen it up with denims.

Achieve a balance in your outfit by toughening up the sweetness of your floral tapestry bag. I say go for faded denim pants and then pair it up with lace up boots like what Chloe did here.

One bag, many ways to style! So make sure you keep a cute tapestry bag in your wardrobe.

The Many Clutches At The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards

What is the number one bag choice of the dazzling array of female A-listers who attended the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards? It doesn’t take a genius stylist to figure out. Clutch!

Clutch is an all-time favorite when it comes to red carpet and black tie events. And the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards is not an exception. Let’s find out what clutches the women brought with them.

Box Clutch

70th Golden Globe 2013 box clutch

Box-type clutches epitomize elegance, especially when they are bedecked with glittery jewels of all kinds. Emily Blunt carried a beautiful gold-tone box clutch adorned with tiny rhinestones on both sides. It really complemented her intricately-beaded long gown from Michael Kors.

Megan Fox also wore a similar box clutch. But hers has a simpler design, only boasting of gold-tone and deep red color. Nice choice. Her lace Dolce & Gabbana gown is already attention-grabbing as it is.

Jennifer Lawrence won big at the Golden Globes and she dressed the part. She spiced up her Christian Dior dress with a silver glittery box clutch from Salvatore Ferragamo.

Lips-Shaped Clutch

There are also the kitschy clutches. Both Kathryn Bigelow and Helena Bonham Carter showed up in lips-shaped clutches with the former clutching the silver version and the latter the red version.

Instead of a lip-shaped clutch, why not try something with lip-shaped adornment?

Furry Clutch

Jessica Alba

I really don’t have much to say about Jessica Alba’s furry clutch but I sure could use something as furry to dust my furniture.

Fringed Clutch

Nicole Ritchie

Apparently, fringed bags are still in existence. Nicole Ritchie toted this clutch adorned with side fringe. I was never a fan of the fringe trend and Nicole’s bag didn’t turn me.

Cylindrical Clutch

This could easily rival the box clutch in terms of the most popular clutch design. Julianne Hough accessorized her beautiful gown with a gold and jewel-tone cylindrical clutch while Jennifer Lopez chose a simple silver one to match with her lacey gown.

I haven’t seen Alyssa Milano in a long time. But she definitely is a sight to behold in this Grecian orange gown. Her oval clutch makes a statement of its own, particularly with that gold-tone tiger figure.
